YOUR CHILD’S PLAYGROUND FOR DISCOVERY

Step into
Girafoufou’s little world.

Pictures taken from the game: places to explore, numbers to touch, a garden to look after.

One door, a new discovery.Your child finds Girafoufou in her village and goes into the houses to play.

THEIR FIRST WORLD FOR LEARNING

Big adventures.
Small victories, all their own.

Girafoufou is a calm learning game for children aged 3 to 5, with a little giraffe as their companion. Guided by voice and pictures, your child explores numbers, shapes and logic, walks through nature and hears first words of French, then comes back to their garden, their stories and their creative games.

01 / NUMBERS

Counting starts to make sense

Touch each object to count it, compare two groups, recognise a numeral. Then number bonds, shapes, positions and telling the time — things to handle and play with, right up to the first written sums with + and −.

02 / LOGIC

The joy of working it out

Mazes, jigsaws, shadows, pairs, tangrams, picture sudoku, cubes… Puzzles for looking closely, making links and trying another way. The difficulty moves with their successes and their hesitations.

03 / THE WORLD AROUND THEM

Nature walks and talking picture books

The farm, the pond, the savannah, the forest, the night, the seasons, their own body… Tap an animal: it acts out its little gesture, and the voice tells three facts — where it lives, what it eats, and its baby.

And letters? Girafoufou’s letters path was built for French sounds. We’re rewriting it for English phonics, as taught in UK schools, one step at a time. The first steps are here: hear a sound, touch its letter, from s, a, t, p to the sounds we write with two letters, like ch and sh, and the long sounds of spring, like ee in bee and oa in boat; then help Mr Gobble collect the letters of his first words, sound by sound: cat, dog, pig, sun, moon, star… Then guess a word from its sounds (c… a… t… cat!) and write the words you hear, tile by tile. Reading longer words and stories is coming later.

And this little world becomes theirs. Plant strawberries, cook a carrot soup for Girafoufou, Little Reindeer or Sunny the cat, decorate the garden, make up a drawing, dance slowly with Girafoufou, listen to Goldilocks… Learning sits side by side with the joy of creating and caring.

A LITTLE FRENCH, JUST FOR FUN

Look, a pig!
In French, we say: le cochon!

Girafoufou comes from France. Behind the door marked “Bonjour!”, she shows your child a picture and gives its name in French, with its little article: le cochon, la vache, la fraise. Six small themes: animals, the farm, the body, fruit and vegetables, the sky and space, pirates.

Three new words per visit. Each word is shown and heard first, and only then asked — your child simply finds the right picture. No microphone, nothing to repeat out loud (unless they want to!). Little French greetings — “Bonjour!”, “Merci!”, “Bonne nuit!” — open and close the visits.

THEIR PACE. THEIR TRIES. THEIR PROUD MOMENTS.

The right little challenge,
at the right moment.

At three, four or five, children aren’t all in the same place. Girafoufou makes room for what your child already knows… and for what they want to discover next.

  1. A start within reach

You choose their age (3, 4 or 5) in the parents’ corner, to set where the journey begins. Activities move up in small steps, from first discoveries to bigger challenges.

  2. Room to grow

Each success opens what comes next. In the puzzle box, several wins move the challenge up a notch; too many mistakes, and it quietly becomes easier again.

  3. The courage to try again

No timer, no punishment. An encouraging voice, time to look, and that joy: “I tried again… and I found it!”

Big discoveries
need little breaks too.

THE WISH TO LEARN. THE TIME TO GROW.

A friend who encourages.
And knows when to take a break.

  • A familiar voice, from one discovery to the next.Girafoufou guides your child with her voice and with pictures — every instruction is also written on screen. She encourages them to look, to try, then to try again: effort counts too.
  • Calm, on purpose.Slow, gentle animations, soft sounds, never a flash, a buzzer or a timer. Between two challenges, a walk, a drawing or the garden gives everyone room to breathe. And no ads, anywhere.
  • The adventure carries on off screen.“Find something round”, “Go and get three spoons”… Little missions invite your child to put the tablet down — Girafoufou never checks, she trusts them. After about 25 minutes of play in a day, Girafoufou goes off for a nap: only a grown-up can say “just a bit more”.

A little friend. A big wish to learn.

Questions from parents.

What age is Girafoufou for?

Girafoufou is made for children aged 3 to 5 — Nursery, Reception and Year 1 — playing with a grown-up nearby. Every instruction is spoken aloud and written on screen, and the gestures are simple: your child doesn’t need to read to start.

What will my child learn?

Today’s English edition covers numbers (counting, comparing, recognising numerals, number bonds and first sums with + and −), shapes, positions and telling the time; logic puzzles such as mazes, jigsaws, shadows, pairs, tangrams and picture sudoku; the living world, through nature walks and talking picture books; and first words of French. Stories, drawing, movement games, the garden and the kitchen complete the adventure.

Is there phonics or reading?

A first step of phonics, yes. Girafoufou’s letters path was designed for French sounds, so we’re rewriting it for English phonics, as taught in UK schools. The first games are here: your child hears a sound and touches its letter, in the order Reception teaches them, then builds Mr Gobble’s first short words, sound by sound (cat, dog, sun, moon, star…), and guesses a word when the voice says its sounds one by one. Reading longer words and stories is coming later. There are also two stories: Goldilocks, read aloud by the voice, and The Picnic, a story to read together where some words are pictures — that’s your child’s part.

Why is there French in an English game?

Girafoufou comes from France: in the French edition, children discover their first words of English; in yours, they discover French. Behind the “Bonjour!” door, each word is shown, heard with its article (le cochon, la fraise), then found among the pictures. Nothing to say out loud, no microphone, no pressure — just a first ear for another language.

Is it free? Do I need to install anything or create an account?

While we open, every game in the English edition is free: no card, no subscription, no account. Girafoufou plays in your web browser, on a tablet, a phone or a computer — nothing to install. Tap Play and the game opens.

Are there ads? And what about screen time?

There are no ads and no trackers, anywhere. After about 25 minutes of play in a day, Girafoufou offers a nap and the game closes gently; only a grown-up can extend it. Little missions also invite your child to put the tablet down and play in real life.

What do you keep about my child?

Nothing about your child leaves your device. The English edition has no account: their stars, their garden and their drawings stay on your tablet or computer. No ads, no trackers, no data sold, and the game never asks for the microphone. Our privacy policy gives every detail.
