Circle, square, triangle, rectangle, then the solids
“Touch the circle!” Each card shows a single shape, in a colour drawn at random from red, blue, yellow and purple: it is the shape that counts, never the colour. Two cards at the first three questions, without the rectangle; it only arrives at the last two, with three cards. “Touch the cube!” The solids are drawn in relief, one face lighter, one darker, on a little round of grass: cube, sphere, pyramid, and the cylinder at the last two questions. They are drawings, not models to rotate.
Big or small, and the pattern that continues
“Touch the big fish!” The same object, the same colour, on the same line: only the size changes — a fish, a flower, a butterfly. With two cards, the big and the small; with three, a medium one joins in, and the medium one is never asked for. “Look at the pattern… what comes next?” A line of shapes ends with an empty space: first two motifs alternating, then three returning in order, changing shape and colour at once so the alternation stands out. Five questions per game, never the same question twice in a row, and the last game mixes all four.
