French for preschoolers: listen, look and find

In the English game, the “Bonjour!” corner introduces French through pictures and a voice. Children look at an object, hear its French name with its article, then find it among the pictures. There is no microphone or speaking test.

Three words in a visit

The game shows and names each new word before asking for it. A visit introduces three words, with French greetings around the activity. The six themes cover animals, the farm, the body, fruit and vegetables, the sky and space, and pirates. Examples include le cochon, la vache and la fraise.

A first encounter, not a fluency promise

Recognising a pictured word does not establish that a child can use French in conversation. This is a small, playful introduction to another language. The English voice still guides the rest of the game; the French corner is a deliberate change of language.

SIDE BY SIDE

Visit the Bonjour corner

  1. Choose the farm theme together.
  2. Look and listen while the new word is introduced.
  3. Let your child find its picture. Repeating the word is optional.

The child does not need to speak into the device. This is vocabulary discovery, not a language test or a complete French course.

Discover the French corner

The discovery games are free to try without a card or account. Full family access is paid. Check Prices for the current plans in pounds; changing between French and British English does not require another purchase.

Why is French in an English app?

Girafoufou comes from France. The French learning path introduces English words; the English path offers first French words. The parent chooses the child’s main learning language.
